Did you know? that flood insurance is not covered under a homeowner policy. However, under most homeowner policies you can purchase a rider for water back up from sewers, drains or sumps. The cost of this is minimal approximately $40.00 for 5,000 in coverage. Please keep in mind this still does not cover you for surface water that seeps into your basement.
